One week after its launch, Google Drive seems to be a great cloud storage solution. But when using Google Drive, it is a great risk to the privacy and data security of your files – it’s ‘A toxic brew’.

After being able to encrypt your Google Drive with BoxCryptor for Windows, you can now also access your encrypted files in Google Drive on your Android device! We have just pushed a new version of BoxCryptor for Android to the Google Play Store which comes with support for Google Drive! Simply grant BoxCryptor for Android access to your Google Drive/Docs files by connecting it with Google Drive. Then you can access and store encrypted files in Google Drive just as you did before with Dropbox.
In order to support Google Drive, BoxCryptor for Android needs to request the new permission “Your accounts”. This allows to retrieve your Google account information when – and only when – connecting to Google Drive. BoxCryptor for Android will not access this information at any other time. Also, please note that Google Drive support is in beta for the beginning. If you should encounter any problem, please contact us in the forums or submit a ticket. Get BoxCryptor for Android v1.2.1 in the Google Play Store or scan this QR-code:

PS: Of course, we also plan to support Google Drive on BoxCryptor for iOS as soon as possible.
Awesome! I can’t wait for the iOS version! I’m amazed how fast you were able to roll out the new support.I gotta say I’m loving this app. As a linux guy, EncFS was the best choice so that users know they are really protected. It’s got trustworthy security and it’s able to work in user-space.The only downside I see with Boxcryptor is that any iOS apps that tie into the dropbox API won’t be able to use this. I wish there was a way to force all apps which attempt to access the Dropbox API to use a Boxcryptor API instead. It’s kind of funny… my biggest problem with Boxcryptor is actually with other apps not using it! Some apps have an "Open in" option, so sending files to Boxcryptor is not an issue, but many only have settings to link directly to a Dropbox account, which unfortunately completely bypasses the encryption. Thanks again and looking forward to some more awesome updates!
Learning how to use it now. tks
But I need to read some of the DOCS and learn what all I am able to do. tks
